We have a packed schedule this week with lots to discuss, so let’s jump straight into it.

Book.io Updates

  • The Book.io Con 2024 website is up and running! This is your chance to grab a ticket before they’re all gone. Don’t miss hearing from Rio Caraeff, the visionary behind Vevo, and other distinguished speakers. Yes, there will be some rare books there, as Mike pointed out. Visit the site today!
  • Last Week’s Mints:
  • Our serene Monday Meditations Series carried on with Nicomachean Ethics. Missed it? Swing by Jpg.store to get your own.
  • On Tuesday, we minted Don Quijote in Spanish. It is the first Spanish language book minted on chain. If you want a piece of internet history, there are still a few available, and you can pick one up here.
  • Wednesday, we minted Create Cool Sh*t by Jack Friks, there are not many left, get one before they’re all gone.
  • Jack also compared Book.io to his Amazon sales in this tweet. I guess people care about ownership, after all.
  • Thursday marked a significant milestone in our mission to decentralize knowledge. We proudly released The Quran, The King James Bible, and The Tanakh. Now, these books are forever on the chain. Unburnable. Unbannable. Unchangeable.
  • You can read the press release here if you missed it.
  • Friday, we sold Go the F**k to Sleep — the ultimate gag gift for friends with young children. Pick it up here.
  • Minting This Week:
  • Today, the Monday Meditations Series continued with The Problems of Philosophy by Bertrand Russell. The mint went incredibly fast, so if you missed out, pick up an eBook on JPG.store.
  • Tuesday, we’re minting The Cyber Security Handbook by Alan Calder. Cyber security is essential in today’s information age, crucial for both newcomers and those enhancing existing programs. It’s not optional; it’s a key to business success. Here’s the link to the mint.
  • Wednesday, we’re minting Frankenstein as an Audiobook. The Audiobook mints are usually very fast, so be sure to show up focused and ready to mint! Reminder: you’ll need the Alice in Wonderland Audiobook to qualify for the discount.
  • Thursday, Lady Chatterley’s Lover by D. H. Lawrence is a new addition to the Banned Book series. This will be a triple chain mint on Poly, Eth, and Cardano.
  • Friday, we’re minting, but the title is currently up in the air as we’re waiting for some final assets. Stay tuned to socials this week to find out.
  • The $BOOK Stake Pool Progresses: Major strides have been made towards launching our $BOOK Stake Pool, with a tentative launch date set for Valentine’s Day. Remember to mark your calendars!
  • Mint + Print Update: Engineering work is nearly complete on our innovative Mint + Print feature. We’re entering the final stages, gearing up for our first book release.
  • Improved Login Process: Our updated login mechanism is currently in non-prod testing. Soon, users can conveniently connect using their Gmail, Facebook, or Twitter accounts.
  • Exciting New Partnership: Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement about a thrilling new collaboration with another Cardano project.
  • Credit Card Transaction System: We’re implementing a new system for processing credit card transactions, an essential move to simplify the onboarding process for mass users.
  • ATX DAO Event Participation: Josh and Ben represented us at the ATX DAO pitch in Austin, connecting and sharing insights with other key players in the community.
  • Sheila got a dog this week, which means the office got a new dog. His name is Winston, and he’s awesome.
  • We hit some big numbers. We have officially minted over 200K books! 205,784, to be exact! Special thanks to our growing community for the continued support.
