Enduring another extremely chilly week here in McKinney, TX, but making significant progress while confined indoors.
Book.io Updates
- You might have heard, we launched the Book.io Con 2024 website — go check it out. All tickets are limited, and Charles Hoskinson (founder of Cardano) and others are speaking.
Last Week’s Mints:
- We continued our calming Monday Meditations with Tao Te Ching. Missed it? Swing by Jpg.store for your copy.
- Tuesday, we minted the first novel by the acclaimed Virginia Woolf. High-volume mints like this one help us move toward our goal of scaling for the masses. If you want a piece of our history, you can pick up one here.
- Friday, we did a flash mint of Sigmund Freud’s Dream Psychology, the covers are incredibly eye catching, which one is your favorite?
Minting This Week:
- Today, we minted the fifth book in the Monday Meditations series, Nicomachean Ethics by Aristotle. This book is an absolute must-read; here’s one of my favorite quotes, “Without friends, no one would want to live, even if he had all other goods.” If you want it, you can get it here.
- Tuesday, we’re minting the Spanish language version of Don Quijote, this will be the first Spanish language book minted on chain. We are so proud to be multilingual! Check out our VP of Engineering Guillermo’s Spanish Language announcement here, and the mint will be here.
- Wednesday, we’re minting Create Cool Sh*t by Jack Friks. This book will help you challenge the status quo of passive consumption and ignite the spark of active creation.
- Thursday, we’re minting The Quran, The King James Bible, and The Tanakh on Cardano. These are three of the most banned books of all time and are currently banned for over a billion people worldwide. We’ll be minting 5,000 of each for 10 ADA each, making it easier than ever to spread knowledge. This isn’t about religion; this is about freedom. As we navigate through times when global fascism is on the rise and the threat to books — and the ideas they hold — seems ever more real. Our resolve at Book.io to safeguard freedom of thought only strengthens. Free words = Free Worlds.
- Friday, we’re minting Go the F**k to Sleep, a bedtime book for parents who have had enough. This is an amazing gift for friends with a newborn.
- $BOOK Airdrop: Last Saturday marked a special occasion for our community — all our Gutenberg holders received their $BOOK Airdrop!
- New Partnership Teaser: We’re buzzing with excitement about a new partnership in the works. Can’t reveal too much yet, but keep your eyes peeled for an announcement coming soon!
- Credit Card Processing Leap Forward: We’ve made substantial progress with our credit card processors, paving the way for an even smoother book-buying experience for the masses. #MomTest
- Stake Pools Update: Great news! We’ve made headway with our Stake Pools and are close to announcing a tentative launch date. Stay tuned for more details.
- Sprout V2 is Here: Audiobook fans, rejoice! We’ve completed Sprout V2, which simplifies the process of minting audiobooks internally — a crucial step towards enabling self-publishing for audiobooks.
- iOS & Android App Updates: Big news on the mobile front! Our iOS and Android apps have been updated. Please take a moment to download the latest version and leave us a review (it really helps!). Here are the links: iOS, Android.
- Mint & Print Progress: We’re making strides with Mint & Print™, starting file production and automation this week. Plus, we’ve had to buy ISBNs in bulk for the first time, ensuring each book has its unique ISBN for physical resale.
- Austin, We’re Coming! Josh and Ben are off to Austin later this week for the Austin ATX DAO Pitch Competition. Josh will be serving as a judge, and we’re proud to be part of an event sponsored by Polygon Labs and Ava Labs. If you’re in the area, come say hi and join us for a drink! Check out the event details here.
Minting Tuesday!
